I just left my favorite coffee shop on Bedford Ave. and couldn’t help but notice the bulletin board piled with postings about what’s going on in town. The total body work out using the TRX system jumped out at me. That’s awesome! I love the fact that people are promoting health & fitness and offering knowledge about something that may be new to some people. What confuses me is that they want you to “forget your gym membership” and just go to their classes at $12 per class.
Huh?
Let’s see…you need to train at least 3 times a week just to maintain any type of fitness level, so 3x$12=$36. Then multiply that by 4 weeks a month…$36×4=$144 per month. A 1 year commitment membership at my gym is $72 per month AND we offer a a huge variety of classes, over 50 a week, at no extra charge. And yes, I have TRX’s in my club too! I also have one of the most knowledgable personal training staffs in the city who are avalible most hours of the day. So yes, classes out of a fitness center or in the park sound great and if it works for you, fantastic! I am not putting it down; I just don’t understand when other people tell you to “forget your gym membership” in exchange for a more limited type of fitness regime. After all, isn’t variety the spice of life? Not to mention being absolutely necessary in order to see any positive progression from a fitness routine!
