Lawrence Betz, a native New Yorker, started serious physical fitness training at age 12. He was a gymnast through high school where he entered the NY state championship 2 years consecutively. His continued interest extended to martial arts training; Japanese jiu-jitsu (3rd degree black belt) and a first degree in 2 others styles in Aiki jiu-jitsu. Larry has spent over a decade teaching martial arts
to adults and children.
In time Larry became increasingly interested in and developed a passion for overall health, strength and conditioning. This led him to search out and study with some of the top strength and conditioning coaches in the world. Some of his certifications and degrees include: Exercise Science from the Swedish Institute of Health Science, Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, NSCA-CPT-(National Strength and Conditioning Association), Titlist Performance Institute (golf fitness instructor).
His method, which bears his last name, is an advanced eclectic method of training utilizing various strengthening disciplines from both Eastern and Western traditions. As a student of exercise science, Larry includes arm & shoulder exercises from golf and baseball players, hip and gluteal exercises from football, foot and ankle exercises from dancers, etc…Since everyone’s muscle structure is different, Larry develops individually customized exercise routines for each and every client.
